Hi, I’m Ben, a wedding photographer with a passion for capturing real moments and genuine stories. I’m based in Somerset West, but travel far and wide, across the country and abroad to document weddings wherever love takes me.

My journey into photography began through a love of adventure and experiencing the world. Early travels sparked a fascination with documenting life as it unfolded – the laughter, the chaos, and the unforgettable memories that make each moment unique. What started as simply recording experiences quickly grew into a deep appreciation for storytelling through imagery.

My creative inspiration comes from many places. I have a beautiful three year old daughter who keeps me on my toes, but more importantly, shapes how I see the world. Wildlife and spending time in the wonder of the African bush are also some of my greatest passions, but also the reason for relocating from the Netherlands to South Africa.

For me, these experiences provide the ever-changing soundtrack to life and influence the way I frame emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling through my work.

My background in hospitality has also greatly influenced the way I work with couples. I understand how important it is for clients to feel relaxed, present, and confident that every detail is being taken care of. Years of leading teams and welcoming guests from around the world has taught me how to create genuine connection, comfort, and joy – qualities I bring to every wedding I photograph. Speaking Dutch, German, English, and Afrikaans also allows me to communicate naturally with a diverse range of clients, ensuring they feel truly understood and at ease.

When it comes to wedding photography, I’m drawn to natural, honest moments. My approach is to remain as unobtrusive as possible, allowing your day to unfold naturally while I capture the story as it happens – moment by moment, creatively and authentically. I’m always watching for those unexpected, quirky moments that make every wedding truly special. Of course, the important milestones like exchanging rings and cutting the cake are captured, but what really inspires me are the in-between moments that make your celebration unique and tell your story in a way that’s completely your own.

While breathtaking locations and beautiful landscapes always inspire me, it’s people who truly capture my attention. The quiet glance, the uncontrollable laughter, the happy tears, the fleeting in-between moments; these are the details that tell a story. For me, wedding photography is about preserving those authentic emotions so couples can relive not just how their day looked, but exactly how it felt. Every photograph I create is about more than just an image; it is a memory, a feeling, a story captured in time. Because weddings, like life, happen only once – and those moments deserve to be remembered forever.
